For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 ESV

Military Ministry-  My wife and I love Child Evangelism Fellowship.  While at Ft. Hood we ran 5-Day clubs in our backyard.  We had kids all summer long.  It was wonderful.True story:  The installation chaplain wanted all the housing areas at Ft. Hood to run the Good News Clubs.  So we did and when all was said and done, he hosted a picnic and kind of had an AAR.  Well at the picnic, this mother stands up and says, "I want to thank all of you for your work. I accepted Christ as my Savior this summer and it has been wonderful.

Good News Club-"Brad's* eyes were shining as he left the room. I had just finished counseling him for salvation and he had prayed to receive Jesus as his Savior. When I asked him, "What did God just do for you?", he replied, "Made me His child." Later, out in the hall, I heard him say to someone, "I'm God's child!"'

"I love Jesus more than all the people of the world!"

Good News Club-We have 24 enrolled.  One of our students, Allie, has been sick for several days and yesterday (Tuesday) she had do go to the doctor.  But yesterday afternoon when the GNC van came to pick up Allie's brother for Good News Club, Allie cried and told her Mom "I REALLY don't want to miss Good News Club."  Sometimes as leaders, we may not grasp how truely important the 90 minute Club is in the life of that child.  May we, as adults, long to spend time each week learning about our Lord ... want to spend time learning about Jesus as much as Allie does!

Teaching children

5-Day Club-"What a joy it was yesterday to substitute teach for the two clubs going on this week in the La Crosse area. Two girls prayed to receive Jesus as their Savior. One girl prayed in her own words, "Jesus take away my sin and make me your own child." After she was done praying she said, "I love Jesus more than all the people of the world!"'

Teens Teaching Children

Good News Club-"We had a good GNC last night one little girl made a decision to follow Christ. She was encouraged by her two little cousins that have been praying for her. They had asked her if she wanted to accept Christ and if she wanted to talk to Mrs. Krumholz. They  then brought her to me and we went into another room to pray. The two cousin were just as excited and know how important it was to be saved. We are rejoicing over this in so many ways. We had 23 in attendance last night and expect more for the last week. Know you are rejoicing as much as we are over this new little one for Christ."

CYIA- This was my third year of teaching 5-day clubs and like the previous 2, it was a blessing. At the beginning of summer I didn't feel the call to be a missionary but I convinced myself anyway and I am glad I did. Hanging around with Christian friends was great encouragement for me and helped me cope with troubles of the world. This year I took TCE 2 training which focused more on the growth of a Christian child. I especially found this helpful while teaching a VBS at our church. Many of the children know the Lord as their Savior already but now God has given me the skills to show them how they can have a closer relationship with Him. Yesterday at work, one of the girls from the Tunnel City 5-Day club came to me and told me about all the Mailbox Club letters she's been receiving!

CYIA-"I led two little girls to Christ. Their Mom was a multiple cancer survivor and one of the girls has problems with seizures. It was great to lead them to Christ, and hopefully, they take the next step in reading the Bible and going to church."--summer missionary

CYIA-At a club in Mauston, I had the chance to share about God to 3 kids. At our first encounter with them, they seemed skeptical of the 5-day club but quickly through the use of duck duck splash they became quite fond of the club. The kids seemed to enjoy the Bible stories and eventually came back to talk and learn more about Jesus. I thought it was pretty cool how kids from different backgrounds came together to have fun and learn about God. Each day after teaching the Mauston club, a different family welcomed us with a meal and gave us encouragement for the next day to come. Numerous people with their busy lives came together to help us reach out to the children and tell them of our one true God. At a club in Lacrosse, I was a bit worried about the location of a club we had at a park. When we went canvassing, I heard some remarks from parents about not usually letting their kids go to that park because of past events but the club went on and the kids were excited to have it. Now I am grateful for helping in that club because everyone needs to hear about Jesus, not just the people who live in friendly environments.

CYIA-"Thank you for sharing your missionaries with us!  I heard great things about the week.  One of my friends that helped said that she has helped with a lot of Bible schools and kids clubs on mission trips and she was really impressed with CEF.  She really liked the curriculum and said the girls did a fantastic job - just thought that would be fun for you to hear.  Praise the Lord for the work He is doing through CEF."

5-Day Club-"Our club was really successful and fruitful.  Maybe you already heard that 7 year old Quincy got saved today.  He has been waiting all week and finally did it today! Praise Jesus.  We are thrilled and could tell that he is, too.  He did not want to leave Club today.

Sarah, age 11, did not want to leave today either. Mora and Sarah met at VBS 2 weeks ago and her parents brought her from West Salem everyday!

We are so excited for next year.  Please plan on our family hosting at least 2 clubs.  Can you fill us in the schedule already?  Despite the spiritual battles, we are so thankful to be able to host 5 Day Clubs."

John 1:12 King James Version (KJV)" But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name"

At Good News Club last night a 5 year old girl came for counseling for salvation.  As we read John 1:12 from the Bible she clarified the verse in her own mind when she said to me, "You know, when it says he gave them power to become the sons of God, that doesn't mean that only boys can be saved. Girls can believe in Jesus too."

Praising God for two salvation decisions last night.  Praying the Holy Spirit will continue to work in these little ones, giving assurance and growth.

It is such an overwhelming responsibility to counsel children for salvation. Each time I feel so inadequate.  Praise God it is not us, or the words we say, but the Holy Spirit that does the work.

The children swarmed exuberantly into the classroom, bopping into the various desks, looking around at the books, touching items in the room. I was substituting for one of the Good News Club teachers and was told that all I needed to do was the lesson, but I soon found out the materials were not prepared, not in order, and no one but me was ready to teach them on the fly.

Jordan sat in a desk near the back, being noisy and disrespectful. Along with the other boys in the room, and some of the girls, I could tell I was going to have my hands full. When I would ask a question, I would get the opposite response from Jordan. I tried to handle the answers with humor and continue to press toward my true purpose, to share Jesus with these children.

The Bible lesson was Jesus calming the storm. It seemed like the story was new to most of the children and the Lord seemed to be speaking to some hearts as the lesson continued and the children settled down participating and interacting more appropriately.

When I finished, the Gospel shared, and asked if anyone  wanted to believe in Jesus for the first time, Jordan was one of the five boys that came back. Now, very serious, he shared how he had believed in Jesus. What a joy to hear him pray and tell God what he had done!
